Are you wondering what a baby gorilla is called? Baby gorillas are called infants, just like baby humans, which makes sense when we're so closely related.
Gorilla babies are smaller than human infants when they are born. Female gorillas have a gestation period of about 8.5 months.
One of the questions we've heard most from you during the last few weeks is about whether gorilla babies cry.
Gorilla infants can vocalize loudly if they're hungry or uncomfortable (and it's very different from the sounds you'd hear from a human baby), but they rarely do.
