David Shepherd had the wonderful ability to turn his hand to any particular subject in art.
He was just at home painting African wildlife, elephants and tigers,
as he was paintings steam engines, battleships, landscapes and portraits.
David's working studio was an old barn, that he had transported to the new premises in East Grinstead.
He is sitting in front of an enormous canvas featuring two elephant moving through the African scrubland.
Possibly taken in the early 1960s.
