Lowry's paintings, and in particular his signed limited edition prints are becoming increasingly sought after,
we have seen a huge demand in recent years with a sharp decline in available work on the market.
From an investment point of view, it does appear that Lowry signed limited editions are a great investment for the long term.

Manchester's newly built museum gallery, The Lowry Centre in Salford Quays, now holds a major collection of his work.
A huge exhibition of paintings and drawings by L.S Lowry was held in The Tate Gallery 2013, and attracted record attendances.

A recent film has been made 'Mrs Lowry and Son', featuring Timoth Spall and Vanessa Redgrave.
Lowry holds the record for declining the most honours awarded to him.
His style of painting is quite unique and he has a distinctive style
In his early days people used to call him a 'Sunday painter', nothing could have been farther from the truth.
Most of his paintings were oil on canvas, using only five colours..
flake white, prussian blue, ivory black, yellow ochre.

His figures were often referred to as matchstick people.
He very much liked the work of adolphe valette
Towards the end, he would tell people that he was fed up of painting.

His paintings can be viewed in The Royal Academy and major museums throuout the world.

There is a large collection of his work in The Lowry centre in Salford.

One of the finest British painters of our time.

Lowry r.a. painted many industrial landscapes and painting scenes of urban landscapes with figures.
He also painted mysterious unpopulated landscapes and brooding portraits, sometimes with human figures
His landscapes peopled with humans have been compared to the work of andy warhol and keith haring
Exhibitions outside the uk have recently been held in the far east
The mill pendlebury and Peel Park, Salford make up many of his urban landscapes
A classic painting by Lowry was The Funfair at Daisynook, and Picadilly Circus
His portrait of 'Ann' is a very striking image, and later he began to concentrate on painting human figures, rather than industrial scenes.
He had a very distinctive style of painting, and Lowry collections have frequently been sold by the large auction houses such as Christie in London.
