Lowry took great pleasure and relaxation from his trip to the seaside, and produced some wonderful paintings and drawings.
However, underneath the joy and pleasure of watching the sea with its endless patterns and movement, there was still an element of loss,
A lost or hopeless soul struggling to understand the futility and hardship of life,
With no obvious clues, Lowry was left to paint, simply what he witnessed.
